Building a video function from zero.
01 / The challenge
No video, real needs.
Strategic Financial Solutions, a debt consolidation company, had no video capability. It needed content for recruiting, internal communications, and client communications.
02 / My role
From builder to team lead.
I helped build the function from scratch, then was promoted to Creative Lead, Video, leading a 3-person team backed by a network of freelancers. I reported to the Creative Director, with wide creative autonomy.
03 / The approach
Systems that scale.
I set up the gear, a production workflow with intake and approvals, templates, repeatable formats, and an asset library so output could scale. I produced web and social content for employees, potential hires, and current clients.
04 / The outcome
Weekly
From no video to at least 1 finished video every week.
In-house
Replaced outside vendors with in-house production.
Hiring
Gave recruiting a dedicated video asset to support hiring.
